Pastor’s Thoughts

Aug 28, 2025

I would like to personally invite everyone to attend our newly structured Polish Mass on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am. There are so few priests left who speak the language that we have made some changes to accommodate a plethora of experiences. First, I have been learning a few words myself in Polish every week to use at this Mass. The songs and readings are in Polish and a great way to appreciate the Polish heritage of our parish. The homily is given by me in English. The Eucharistic prayer is prayed by me in Latin. Latin is still the official language of the Roman Rite Church and is permitted to be used during any Sunday Mass. So for those of you who appreciate Latin and it’s place in our Liturgy, come experience again the beauty and sound of the Latin language. Consider attending this new 9:30 am Mass and experience the beauty of language, tradition, and Polish heritage every Sunday at 9:30 am. Finally, the Diocese will be undertaking a major financial campaign based upon Bishop Malesic’s first pastoral letter, “A Flourishing Apostolic Church.” The diocese is looking to fund three major areas within the diocese that focuses upon his three points of Worship, Evangelization, and Service. While the campaign is being studied and has not yet begun, I call it to your attention now to give you time to pray and think about supporting our Catholic Church within the Diocese of Cleveland. You may even want to consider a legacy gift to our Parish in your will to help St. John Cantius’ work in our Tremont neighborhood. We have been alive and well (and growing) since 1898 – 127 years. May God Bless Each and everyone of you, Sincerely, Fr. Roach
