Pastor’s Thoughts

Mar 20, 2025

First, next week, on Tuesday March 25, Wednesday March 26, and Thursday March 27 we will be stripping and sealing our entire church floor. This has NOT been done this thoroughly for nearly 20 years. You are going to see a brightened appearance in the church and clean, shiny marble once again. So, in lieu of the 3-day project we will NOT be able to have Mass next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Second, we just completed painting the new entrance way near the parking lot. That still had builder’s GRADE ‘flat’ paint. We will soon be moving into the Men and Women’s bathrooms to paint them. The former cry room is being turned into a small chapel in honor of Helen Pelczar. Helen was a mystic, holy individual who was gifted with the stigmata – her hands bled as did those of Christ. Helen came from Poland and lived with her aunt and was a parishioner of our Parish. We have the picture that she prayed to daily, and it will be displayed in the chapel once completed. If you are not familiar with Helen, please go to our webpage and you can read all about her life. We believe some individuals have already received miracles on her behalf but not yet reported them. A new shingle job will be given to the old grade school this summer. We replaced the flat roof on it 4 years ago but not the shingles on the side. They were not that bad. We are working on a date for this fall for a formal organ dedication and recital. Details will follow. Lastly, our Polish Parish Festival will be Saturday September 27. We are going to try a Saturday this year and see if we can get even more of a crowd.
