Pastor’s Thoughts

Jun 20, 2024

Summer is surely upon us all. I hope everyone is keeping cool. I wanted to bring to everyone’s attention our parish picnic which will be held Sunday, July 28 immediately following the 11:30 am Mass. It will be held in the rectory backyard. There will be a food truck preparing fresh hamburgers, chicken breast sandwiches and hotdogs. They will also be cooking fresh cut French fires along with pasta salads. Desert will consist of brownies and cookies. You will need to call the rectory and reserve your spot, so we know how much food to order. There will be NO COST to parishioners however, our cost is based upon a per person charge. I only ask if you sign up to come, please attend or cancel your reservation prior to the event. If you would like a takeout, that would be available as well. We ask you to contact Joe to RSVP (216 7819095 X2) and indicate your name and how many in your party will be attending. Additionally, we will provide at no cost, bottled water. If you would like soft drinks or any other beverage, please bring your personal coolers. I believe this should be a fun event for all of us and our way of saying ‘thank you’ to every parishioner. They have been working diligently on the new microphone all week. It should be completed when this bulletin comes out as it’s Wednesday 6/19 and we are preparing this bulletin for the upcoming weekend. I look forward to your feedback in the weeks to come. Our special thanks goes out to everyone who donated funds toward the purchase of the new system. THANK YOU! Father Roach BIBLICAL HUMOR: A Pain in my Side At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam’s ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and she said, ‘Johnny, what is the matter?’ Little Johnny responded, ‘I have pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.’
