As part of our fundraising for our October 24 festival, we will once again have decorative baskets available to purchase tickets for a raffle at the event as we have in the past. We are asking for help in making this ‘basket’ event as successful as last year. Last year as you recall, we jumped on pre-sale of tickets and had baskets displayed weeks before the festival. How can you help? First and foremost, we need baskets. Yes, empty baskets to fill. If you have any, please drop them off anywhere at the entrances of the church or bring them to the rectory anytime. As far as creating a basket yourself, that too would be an option. We are asking for a minimum of a $50.0О value per basket and we ask you call and let the “basket coordinators” know in advance what you would like to do so there are no duplicates. Both Beverly Sutowski (216 401-6212) and my sister Kathy (216 559-3267) have agreed to help coordinate this event again this year. Some ideas for baskets might be a sports basket, ethnic food basket, gift card basket, wine basket, barbecue basket, a toiletry basket, a spa basket, or a snack basket. For those who may not have the time or desire to shop, you can make a contribution and we can shop for you thereby eliminating you having to shop and create the basket yourself. Those funds can be deposited in the Sunday Collection in a separate envelope marked ‘BASKETS’ or brought to the rectory. Or, if you know of any businesses that would donate merchandise, products or gift cards, that would be most welcome. Finally, if anyone would like to help arrange, coordinate, wrap baskets, or just join the ‘basket team’ just give Bev or Kathy a call. They would welcome the help. Wrapping parties are always fun!
